RADCLIFF PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
The Radcliff Public Works Department serves approximately 23,000 residents
in northern Hardin County, Kentucky located next to Fort Knox. The area
covers 11 square miles. The Department is responsible for operating and
maintaining over 75 miles of roads and streets; maintaining all City owned
vehicles; and maintaining stormwater drainage facilities and water conservation
facilities. The Department also manages all capital drainage projects.
It meets and monitors all environmental stormwater requirements.
In addition, the Department is responsible for all City beautification
projects and provides general maintenance services for the City owned property.
The Public Works Department is in the process of upgrading and resurfacing the city
streets at a cost of over $1,000,000.00. It is also extending City sidewalks in the
older sections of Radcliff for a better pedestrian passage at a cost of over $550,000.00.
The Department is coordinating with the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Kentucky
Transportation Cabinet road improvement plans for state and federal highway expansions and
upgrades in our area. It is expanding the City's GIS/GPS mapping equipment for drainage,
stormwater, and utility service facilities locations. The City is in compliance with the
NPDES Phase II Stormwater Permit requirements and regulations.
