Peace Officer Salary

¨ Starting annual salary of $27,528.05

¨ $3,100.00 per year incentive upon completion of basic police academy.

Peace Officer Professional (POPS) Standards

 

Þ    Be a U.S. citizen

Þ Be at 21 years of age

Þ Be a high school graduate or equivalent and provide copies of transcripts and diploma.

Þ Have an honorable discharge if prior military.

Þ No felony convictions

Þ Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Þ Be of high moral character.

Þ Be a law abiding citizen of sobriety and integrity.

Þ Authorized by law to carry a firearm.

Þ Pass written examination.

Þ Pass a physical agility test that meets or exceeds the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice (DOCJT) Peace Officer Professional (POP) standards.

Þ Pass a background investigation.

Þ Pass a medical examination.

Þ Pass a polygraph examination.

Þ Complete an oral interview

Þ Complete 18 week basic police academy in Richmond, Ky.

Þ Sign 2 year contract with City of Radcliff.
