Composite Drawings

Forensic Art is a technique used in the identification, apprehension and conviction of wanted or missing persons. Composite Artist Kim Chatoney provides this invaluable service to the Radcliff Police Department. Composite Drawing is the most common form of forensic artistry used by law enforcement. The purpose of Composite Drawing may be one or more of the following:

                 1.              To record in visual form the memory of the Witness or Victim;

                 2.              To identify the perpetrator through recognition by others;

                 3.              To eliminate those persons who do not look similar;

                 4.              To corroborate the Victims’ or Witness’s statement;

                 5.              To help reduce the volume of investigative work; and

                 6.              To provide new information for the investigator.

There are three stages to a Composite Drawing:

                 1.              Initial interview with Victim or Witness;

                 2.              Sketching to form a Composite Drawing; and

                 3.              Viewing of the initial Composite Drawing by the Victim or Witness for final                                   changes and finish.

This service is available for law enforcement agencies at no cost. Please contact Captain W.E. Wells at (270) 351-4479 to request scheduling.
