The mission statement for the City of Radcliff Fire Department is the protection of life and property within the city limits of Radcliff to the extent of the level of training which the members have been provided.
Currently, fire headquarters and one sub-station house 9 pieces of fire apparatus and 2 specialized mobile units for hazardous materials and specialized rescues.
This department will respond to structure, vehicle, and brush fires; any incident where threat or danger from fire exist. The firefighters train extensively in vehicle and heavy rescue. From hazardous materials releases to trench rescue these firefighters are prepared and keep up to date with the latest techniques. The fire department staff also trains in Confined Space entry as well as first aid and CPR classes.
Protection of our citizens begins with Fire Prevention programs in the school setting with Sparky’s Hazard House which can even be adapted to senior citizens gatherings.
Businesses are familiar with our Deputized Fire Marshals as they make annual inspections with their facilities. Our Fire Marshals also provide fire extinguisher training with a live simulator to meet OSHA guidelines.
This department participates in the Knox Box program which assists first responders in gaining entry into businesses. Smoke alarms are made available through a joint venture between the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the local Wal-Mart and can be obtained at Fire Headquarters.
With an ever increasing run volume, this department strives to increase its expertise with all training to further protect life and property. It is with this mission in mind that we are the City of Radcliff Fire Department.
